Inside Fare to the King

Leon Hale, the former ruler of the underground empire who had been in retirement for three years, drove a worn-out taxi and took a $10 million escort order from Evelyn Sterling, CEO of Aurelia. Her helicopter was shot down, her father fell into a coma, and her uncle seized power opportunistically; capital rivals colluded with banks and suppliers to force her to hand over the AI model Nova X. Leon deflected bullets with a wrench, flung a rocket back with a wire mesh, mobilized his former subordinates to rescue people, froze the rivals' funds, and accompanied her to investigate the internal leak. As the coerced finance officer handed over evidence, the two discovered that the behind-the-scenes force not only wanted to seize the commercial authorization and profits of Nova X, but also to force Leon to return to Dominon, the underground empire he founded. To save more than 600 employees at the headquarters, Evelyn voluntarily walked into the encirclement, Leon revealed his identity as the ruler, and Marcus, his most trusted business partner, gradually exposed himself. Although Evelyn and Leon went from employer and employee to mutual protection, their escort relationship ended because Leon concealed his suspicions and made decisions about her comings and goings on her behalf. Leon then handed over all the complete information, letting her make her own choice, and revealed that he had been investigating the crimes of his former subordinates for the past three years.
